Are you kidding
My current CTP green slip from 8/16 was $473.00 from insure my ride.(50 y/o in Sydney)
Lots of things are factored in to the price, but that is ridiculous.
How old are you? & do you have a bad record etc?

Reading online seems motorcycle green slips have all gone up, many more categories and different prices, our category may have a 38% increase this year.

There are other factors, if you have fully comprehensive insurance the greenslip will be lower by about 100+ dollars but that may have to be wth the same greenslip supplier and there is the demerit points for the naughty motorcycle riders me not being one of those  :smile2:

I have a greenslip renewal for next week. GIO renewal notice $628.
I will be changing insurer but please note if you have demerit points QBE go up to same as other and they check your licence with RMS (NSW).

That's a bit rough, basically getting penalized twice for demerits.

Welcome to the world of insurance Col.
Any reason will do to put the premium up.

I have ran comparisons for a 250 (Honda XR) and they all come in at around $285, so QBE are not doing discounts in that bracket, they hiked it up about 4 years back due to high claims according to their surveys, the big bracket was dropped by about 40 dollars but it has risen substantially since.

NSW rego, and annual safety certs, along with the weather are some of the reasons I won't move South of the border.

Can't imagine having several cars and bikes and paying that every year as well as getting them inspected.  No thanks.

No annual safety certs, cheap rego for single seat bikes, cheaper rego etc suit me just fine!

Edit: I couldn't remember what I pay, so I put my single seat Hayabusa / B-King into the rego calculator. Rego and CTP insurance together is $297.70 for the year. No annul fee for personal plates either.

I feel your pain in NSW as I'm an expat living in Qld for over 25 years now.
There has never been 'pink slips' up here but the police can defect you while your out and about.
I remember seeing straight through the rear of a wagon into the rear seats of a car here in Qld years ago and until the police defect it, they just kept paying their rego. Bloody scary.

But if you value your own life, you maintained your car and bike to 'pink slip' standard up here BUT it is bloody cheap thank god (two bikes and three cars).

My 14 is dual seat, you wouldnt want to be a pillion when i take the Busa or B-King out.

Haven't seen a frost in the last 13 years. Don't intend to start now.
I'm moving North (inland) in the future, Brisbane gets too cold for me.
Inland NSW is nice in Summer, don't like your Winters.
