Title: End cans
Post by: Scottymac on Tuesday, 23 May 2017, 06:31 AM
Further to my last post regarding window shopping - I could go for a full delkevic system or black widow but another option would be to get the header and collector package and change up the end cans to something to be a bit different - here's 3 I've found on the bay - what do you think guys ?

None of those would be my choice, if I had to plump for one then it would be Quill, the others have no pedigree.

Personally if looking at end cans, it would have to be Beowulf, Blue Flame or Delkevic

Is it just me or is the wheel of centre?

No it's not you with all the twin cans the offside (right hand as you look at from the rear) appears to sit slightly further out than the left hand

Hi mate,

Not sure if you've heard of Pipewerx before, but I fitted one to my other bike and it's bloody loud, and to this day I still havn't removed the baffle, not even once. Got it in stainless steel and it hasn't corroded at all in the good few years i've had it fitted.

Support from the guys is A1 as well. They're based in Lancashire.

Weblink: http://www.pipewerx.com/suzuki.html?cat=142

I keep considering getting a couple of round stainless cans from them for my 14, but the original exhausts look too good. I wish I could have the originals, but with a bit louder noise.

To echo what others have said - BlueFlame also do some awesome cans. I particularly like the twin port ones, but they do cost a bit more.

Cheers.

Thanks for the link - there's some nice looking bits of kit on there - it opens up my options !
And thanks all for your input - I'll go and google Beowulf  :onya:

50mm, I'll have ro have a close look at the back end, it seems to be riding OK.
Title: Re: End cans
Post by: RickC on Wednesday, 24 May 2017, 03:19 PM
Well I put a ruler on the back end and it's not right, I found that you can fit the disc spacer backwards which has corrected it a little.

My chain has seemed noisy rolling at low speed and I've offset the wheel by one of the rear increments which has quieting the chain, the back visually now looks OK
but the front appears to differ by 10mm.

I'll park the bike, drive the car to work tonight and revisit it tomorrow.

I't probably something I've screwed up after a nightshift.

You're the first person i've known to say that. I specifically went out my way to find twins.

It's a muscle bike after all, might as well look chunky.

I think your bike would look even more stunning with another of those Cobra pipes on the other side

For me twin end cans are better that single one. It looks like a big strong bike  :mwink: .Symetrical look can be done but it is necessary to use a few pads under bolts and little modificate a handles.
Dominator exhaust - those cans are form Poland and in my country there are diferent opinions about them so on Your place I would go to Delkevic, Blueflame or Beowulf  :)

Hi Dan,
For me it's just not the look I go for, I like to see sprocket and chain on the other side hence no hugger or chain guard and again 'to me' it's more esthetically balanced with a single. I previously had a blackbird and swore never again on the dual pipes. At the end of the day it's each to their own but the second pipe is just excess baggage and has no function so as I dont like it that suites me fine!
If I did have 2 x Cobra I'd lose the excitement when walking around the bike. :onya:

The 'retro' look to me means you have to see wheels and chain, tres sexy !

Cheers

Red,

I can totally understand where you're coming from regarding seeing the sprocket/chain etc. Looks like you've got a Supersprox on there? I am a fan.

I was even going to switch up from my 600 hornet to the 900, just to get the twin tail pipes. I'm a sucker for them.

Differing opinions is what makes this place even more exciting. At least we share the same taste in colour! (or lack of!!)

EDIT: Couple of slash cuts here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-GSX-1400-2001-2004-Stainless-Shotgun-slashcut-Exhausts-/201919649516?hash=item2f035956ec:g:kncAAOSw-3FZENYe

No idea if any good or not, but I think they look awesome on that bike.

No. The angle of the exit port from a single exit collector compared to that from a dual exit collector is different Notty, sorry.

Hi Dan,
The beauty is there is lots of options for all tastes 👍
I like the pipes, when I was searching for mine I did come across some that looked very similar to the Cobra in stainless only £120 but no Euro mark from China of course 😩

Slash cuts   :smoke: amazing sound and look from behind ! But side view is for me poor  :undecided:
But when I was changing my cans i think about Delkevic or Slash cuts - Delkevic wins  :cheesy:

Looks good, but would look better if you had the bolt for the clamp going to the end can underneath rather than on top  :onya:

I have Stainless "Staintunes" on my B-King, they were a gift.
Unusual for me.

My current Busa, my last Busa, my project "bits a-Busa", my Bandit 12 and my GSX1400 all have Yoshimura cans or full systems. I can see at least 6 Yoshi cans sat here!

I may have a slightly biased opinion in this thread.
