Post by: NI-Mike1973 on Monday, 22 May 2017, 03:12 AM
Hi All
Whats the best fork oil to buy and although 5w oil is recommended for standard fork internals but what difference would 10w make.
i know everybody will have different opinions.

Not sure there is a best per se - having said that my preference was always a mineral over "normal" oil as it is slighly thinner and whilst giving correct fork damping, for me the rebound was just a tad quicker. Personal choice for me was Castrol 10w Mineral http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CASTROL-Mineral-Based-Fork-Oil-10W-500ml-/121998697506?hash=item1c67b06422:g:xNgAAOSwepZXSCrn for me that gave best damping.

If I could have got 5w I would have used that. 10w will make the fork action slightly slower, but not noticeably different IMO
