Welcome to the site Bob, I'm sure someone will be along to help shortly,
although it's probably past bedtime for some

Someone recently had a similar complaint.
Try searching under Chain or Gearbox. Failing that someone will be along soon with advice.
Think the last fella had a loose rear wheel nut.
Throttle cable adjustment, and chain adjustment need to be within spec too.

Have you tried adjusting your throttle cables? Basically if they are misaligned or mis-adjusted that can give exactly the symptoms you refer to. Clearly there can be other things, but in the first instance that's often the cause. How to adjust is detailed in the handbook (if you don't have a handbook, you can download one from the Downloads / Manuals section on here (look along 4 to the left from the "logout" button))

Bob, have a look at thread "Gearbox output shaft backlash"

and what condition are your sprockets in? Chain not slipping under heavy load on a too worn sprocket is it?

Cush drives in the rear hub assembly?

I'd still check throttle cable adjustment first. I'd then check chain adjustment and alignment is correct

You might also want to check your TPS, as if it's significantly out, that too could contribute to the issue. Details here http://gsx1400owners.org/forum_test/index.php?topic=263.0

mate, not betting my left nut but close. will be fuel pressure. i harp on this, probably bore most people. do the high pressure mod, can be found on this site. clean out tea bag pick up. youll be amazed, like a new bike. external filter then can be cleaned so easily. will run so much nicer. that internal high pressure filter is a very bad idea.

check your TPS! Use a multimeter.

I also have a little problem. In my bike little jerking is in low rpms. Over 2,5 and 3 k rpm bike goes very well up to redline ...  :confused1:
Do You think that can be fuel filter ?

I sometimes get a little jerkiness at low RPM, but moreso when the fuel gauge is 2 bars. I know that's a known characteristic of the bike though.
