Title: bennets bike insurance
Post by: Gaz1978 on Monday, 01 May 2017, 12:54 AM
Im insured with bennets, fully comp, 9 yrs ncb, bike garaged, and am 38 with a clean license. Previous year was £85.00 which i think is a good price!

However my renewal came through and they wanted £140 per year......my maths are rubbish but i think thats roughly a 70% increase for no reason

Anyway gave them a ring and said why the increase, whilst having some friendly banter with the helpful lady on the phone, and she says "let me see what i can do sir"........"is £90 ok for you?"  :boogie:

So definatly worth questioning renewal quotes and seeing if you can bring your premium down a bit!

Most companies just make it up on the spur of the moment ...... not an exact science .... more like demanding money with menaces

That's a good result.

I'm also with bennetts, so i'll be expecting a significant rise when my renewal arrives. I have multi-bike too.

Just had my renewal from Bennets - up just £10 on last year to £142 - Thats me aged 62, 10 years NCB fully comp with legal cover, breakdown and recovery , helmet and leathers - bike garaged with 3k annual mileage....may try one of those price comparison sites as I realised I have full RAC EU cover with my car which covers the bike (worth around £350)... :smile2:
any recommendations ?

Sorry lads... but I wish you would stop wingeing on about the cost of insurance.... here in Austria I pay around 650euros per year... and that's not even fully comp!  I do however have 6million Euro cover for accidental personal liability cover.... fat lot of good that is!  Right now I would very happy to see a bill for 200 quid fully comp....

Rant over... normal service resuming 😜

i was with Bennets for quite a few years and generally paid about £140. Had an accident, not my fault, next renewal £650 (not a misprint). Telephoned them and they said that was correct. Went to Swinton £150. Following year renewal £350. Gave up with comparison sites and started using a broker and I haven't paid more than £125 since.
