Fantastic that 416 GSX1400 owners have found their way here. Its proving to be a great forum. Lots of info, plenty of helpful advice, bit of banter and plenty of laughs. Just a good vibe.
Well done and thanks to all those who participate, along with Vlad (Mike) and his team who provide us with this platform
Its come a long way since its creation. :clapping:

Concur wholeheartedly with the above.
Thanks Mike & mods, and thanks to all us members too, as without the members & their contributions the site would be as vibrant a place as it is. :hat:

Yes, well done to the administrators and thanks to all who have contributed with their postings.
I confess I hesitated to join initially and held back to see if it would fly. Critical mass has been achieved though and the forum seems to be thriving.
400+ members is very respectable for a machine that has been out of production for 10 years and the good thing is that all of those members are in effect recent and active.
Riding a GSX1400 and being part of the family - long may it continue :clapping:
Wasn't sure whether to post here but I think I probably should.
First thank you all for your kind words, they are very much appreciated. :)
:thankyou:
It was indeed a fair bit of work to get this place up and running, and there was always a risk involved.
I was operating on the "If you build it, they will come" model, and as it turned out it was just in the nick of time.
One of the necessary ingredients for a forum of this nature is the technical know-how that accumulates over time and we are VERY fortunate that Dave (
@gsxbarmy ) had saved a lot of that from the old place and was able to post it here, and I am ever grateful for that. :worshippy:
I am honoured that Jay (
@Proteous ) and Dave (
@gsxbarmy ) agreed to come on board as admins. :boogie: With most of our members being in Australia and the UK (opposite time zones) this means that there are admins covering each "shift", which means that any outages (which inevitably occur from time to time) are dealt with as quickly as possible.
Critically, it also means that the continued running of the place doesn't rely on one person at all times. We all know how that ends... :whistling:
One thing that I don't claim to do is OWN this forum. Technically it's in my name, but as far as I am concerned YOU ( the members ) own the place. You could say that I am working for you, if you follow...
As such you as members are welcome to ask ANY questions of me, or the other admins. You can do so by clicking here (http://gsx1400owners.org/forum_test/index.php?topic=7.0) or if you prefer by PM.
As long as they are civil and reasonable they
will be answered, and answered honestly. We have no big secrets when it comes to this place.
One warning - I run the place with a velvet fist in an iron glove ... :rofl2:
Anyway enough of this... get back and enjoy it ! :riding: :smiley-happy036:
