sanding is the key alright. just get into them. work your way down with paper. 2000 is my last sand. i just polish with autosol, works for me. spizzoil is the new polish champ, taken over from barmy. maybe other ideas but mine came up fine. my id photo on this site. gave them a 5 min brush up last week. look good enough for me. i was scared to do but wasnt hard.

Looks great Spizz, but have to say all this polishing is a rod for your own back (did I really say that?), I went that little too far with my old 14 in polished parts such that I was polishing more than riding.

mine is an every day its not raining Barmy. selective on polishing for that reason. if its easy to get at, give it a touch up, ill polish it. at least one lunch hour per week is spent on bike. my theory is, do a little bit often, not a lot seldom. that is polish, clean, adjust, modify, service. no set schedule, just do when i think needed. mine is no show piece but its not too bad. often get asked if its new. makes an old bloke smile.

me two you do have to keep on top of it but I find that when I'm in the shed planet rock playing and I'm polishing its like nothing else matters and it just becomes me and the rest of the world just passes bye :happy1:
