Hi everyone...
Unfortunately on the evening of March 1st I had an accident on my favorite Rimutaka Hill Road.
It sadly left my much loved 14 written off; and me still recovering from injuries received.
No one to blame, a case of target fixation where I drifted off the road straight into the guard rail.
I have had to take a long, hard look at the consequences and have come to the sad decision that I am not going to get another motorbike; and as such will not be contributing to this forum from here on in.
I congratulate Vlad and others on putting together such a great resource and wish you all many happy miles with the sun above you and wind at your backs.
Cheers Mike.
Very sorry to hear that! I truly hope that you are healing well and will come out of the other side with no scars of any kind.
Thanks for the company to date and dont forget just because you dont ride dont think you are not welcome cuz you are..
Take good care of yourself and you never know, maybe, some time down the road, you will hear that call and feel that pull again..
Good luck and may we meet again.
Hi Mike. Sorry to hear of your mishap.and the damage done to you and your bike.
Was it by chance B4BMD..... 2001 Blue & White, Hagon shocks and a black Yoshi pipe?
There was a damaged one up for auction last week.
If you are heading to Tauranga find me on here and arrange to drop in.
Go well, Colin
Jeez Mike that's tough luck ! Hope everything goes OK for you.
You're always welcome here, whether you own a bike or not.
You're family mate, that's just the way it is !

Hi Colin .. yes it was, makes me sad to think of it being auctioned for parts.
TBH I cried when I saw it a week after, such a gem of a bike.
Cheers Mike.
Mike - so sorry to hear of your accident, never good and must be painful to see that lovely 14 of yours up for auction for parts. I'm not sure what would hurt more, the accident or the auction.
As others have said though you don't have to be a bike owner to be on here. This place is more like family for its banter and friendship so please don't be a stranger - staying may even help your recovery.
Hope you mend soon buddy.
as said by others
a speedy recovery to you . :onya:
you'll always be welcome here so don't be a stranger
Good luck with your new bike and get well soon :onya:
Mike, that's very sad to hear of you & your bike. Give yourself time to heal, physically, mentally & emotionally. After that you'll be in a better position to make a call on if you'll get another bike.
Hope you mend well mate and I'm so sad to hear of the bike too, think I'd be exactly the same.
Cheers Col.
Totally understandable decision, we aren't as indestructible as we think.
Hope all heals well :onya:
Best of luck on a speedy recovery dude :bugga:
Best of luck for the future :salute:
That's not cool, heal well.
Gladiator down!!! Bad news Mike - forget the bike - hope you mend well!!
Cheers
Stan
Hey Mike,
Never say never, I hope you go on to a full recovery and in that time think some more on that decision.
I could be wrong but it sounds like you are beating yourself up over it.
Anyhoo just cos you're down, doesn't mean you're out, so we hope you stick around..
Sad news indeed Mike...Hope you make a full recovery very soon :onya:
Sad news Mike...Never say never :smile2:
