Throw it in the bin Mate. Not worth the hassle. Stock tail unit, 2 Narva LED, works and looks good.

Throw what in the bin? It is a stock tail unit - just the bulbs are the issue.
Do you know which narva led bulbs are the ones I need?

Vlad ,
You need a BAY15D in any brand you favour, Stanley is OEM (and durable) but hard to get I use Osram and as has been said most places stock Narva and they seem Ok any real cheap ones are probably that and wont last ,

Horse,
Change is easy improvement somewhat more difficult :Dr Porsche

Well I've fitted the fancy rear indicators with built in stop lights (video to come in due course) and new (Narva) LED bulbs in the tail lights and all is wonderful on that front (rear) now.

The tyres, chain and sprockets still need doing but I sold a shotgun on the weekend and that puts me half way there.

Milts

@VladTepes That's a coincidence i've just been doing something similar today.

Having fitted an LED rear light with integral indicators sometime back it was pointed out that wasn't a bright idea  :embarassed:
So I've fitted a pair of aftermarket indicators this morning, tbh i'm not convinced they are bright enough?? Will get a second opinion and may revert back to standard   :bugga:

seth

I use the standard indicators on all our gsx1400's .
But I fit orange bulbs and smoked lenses from the rear of a gsxr750 direct fit as apart from bulb and lens the same part .
They are stealth enough to hide but as bright as standard when they flash.
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

Tally

@Milts  they look identical to mine.

Seth any close ups of the errr....indicators ??
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Milts, same as mine I think, mine are the waterfall type, plenty bright.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

I reckon thats a good deal Vlad. 👍Itll be so much nicer. WD or kero to clean that chain, VMX for lube, will last forever.

Best money you will ever spend Mike. Amortised over a 20 year ownership, this bike has paid itself off over and over again. No second hand value really but lot's of sentimental value remembering the great times I've spent riding my GSX with loads of mates over those years who've come and gone from motorcycling also.  :crash: :wheelie:

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

True that Kingi. Our bike has taken us to places that have given us lifelong memories. So many we speak with wish they had a bike to have done the same.
Talking tyres around the bike shops recently, one question commonly asked is how do you use your bike. I answer "trips away with the missus and a load of luggage to the occasional track day and everything in between". "Oh so you use it a lot then" "yep".
Our bike has certainly been great value, still polishes up a treat and turns a few heads. Long may that continue.

Can you convince my missus of that please.
She reckons that because my bike "is worth nothing"  I shouldn't be spending any money on it.

She said "You'd be better off putting the money toward a new bike".

She couldn't get her head around the fact that a new bike would still need chains. sprockets tyres etc periodically.

(Oh and no, she didn't mean I could get a new bike... )

Kinda sounds like management did mean that Vlad.
Maybe you should come home with a valuation for that pristine post classic GSX 1400.
Its an investment for the future :onya:

Hooli

I think she meant you should get a brand new bike as well, then you can demonstrate how they cost just as much to run.
