Hi,
Been lurking a while!
I have a black 2006 GSX1400FE, bought a couple of years ago. Together with a 2003 XJR1300. Air cooled/ twin shocks do it for me.
Returning to bikes after selling my tuned Z1 10 years ago! ( What a mistake that was!)
Happily, apart from the looks department, both bikes are Miles better to ride than even my heavily modified Z1 was.
Anyway both are keepers, so I may have a few questions!!
Starting with how do you post pictures?
:welcome:
:welcome1: to the nuthouse
I'll look forward to seeing your photos 👍
Welcome Stever. You were extremely luck to find the much sought after black one.
Yes best to learn on a slow (Black ie non-colour) bike then upgrade it with a Blue & White ie Fast bike paint job once you can handle the pace :stir: :stir: :stir: :rofl2:
Welcome Mate.
W e l c o m e M a t e
(I said that slowly as you are just starting out and on a non-fast black GSX1400)
Hi Stever, welcome to the forum. Nowt wrong with a Black K6 (have a look at my profile pic) , don't listen to the naysayers. How to post a pic? have a look at this thread, it should sort ya out there. https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?topic=7530.0 :onya:
Welcome to the forum Steve. :onya: As for pictures, once you have opened a new reply there is a drag and drop window just below the text box. Don't use quick reply or you wont see it.
:welcome1:
To all things 1402
Thanks guys,
The blue and white ones must be really fast, cos mine doesn't feel slow :rofl2: :rofl2:
I had a 99 xjr 1300 and now a 2002 gsx, blue white so obviously fastest ever. How do you find the xjr and gsx compare, I had a 12 year gap between
Hi Phil,
Can't really compare handling, as I really need new tyres on the Yam. Suzuki is faster, more torque. Suzuki also more economical. Both are on standard brakes, with braided lines, both seem to stop really well.
Yamaha is getting subtly modified. Suzuki is stock apart from Renthal bars. I may well strip it to get the frame powder coated at some point.
Basic plan is to have one on the road, while the other is in bits!
Ay up, if you're Yorkshire then we'll probably cross paths at Squires, Strawberry Fields or Seaways etc etc at some point.
Hi Hooli,
Have to arrange to meet up in Spring, any others round here?
Pictures I think
Ha it worked!
Currently taking swing arm off to grease it, but then decided to remove this horrible Meta alarm thing!
Then I am thinking it may be a good idea to clean the bit of rust off round the shock mounts and spray the frame!
Amazing how it escalates!
I know a few owners, mostly from the old Org rather than on here.
If you ever see a very clean black 14 & a clean yellow & black 14 ridden by two good looking women & accompanied scabby blue white. Then that's me on the scabby one :happy1:
Welcome, enjoy the ride! :hat:

Welcome Stever
Welcome to the world of 14.
Welcome, are you in West , South or East Yorkshire ?
Why is North Yorkshire being excluded? All shires matter :stir:
Eric, we have West Oz, Sth Oz, no Nth or East. I feel left out. 😎
Well Hooli post said if you are in North Yorks , so i figured he lived there . :whistling: Phew did that get me out of that one ? :8:
I'm actually South Yorks, but tend to head northwards when out.
Sorry about delayed reply. West Yorkshire. Near Haworth.

Hey mate can you please pop your location (West Yorkshire) in the location section in your forum profile? Ta.
It's very useful to people when people ask questions where approx location is relevant.
