Hi all.
Been away for a while..  :whatever: lol.

Getting bike ready for this year as its been SORN'd for the last 2 years i think..(?)
Had a constant leak from the RH side leg, well before i laid it up. Decided to get them looked at by a local dealer.. "KAIS" suspension specialists in Atherton just outside Manchester. (Ohlins place)
just been told that he stanchions need replacing or at least re-hardchroming.

Do i buy new units from Paolo Tarozzi? been recommended to get these. £141 apiece. And also ive got Hagon progressive springs in the legs and ive been asked how much air gap should be at the top. (No spacer in legs at all)

Thanks all.
And its good to be sorting bike out and  hearing from you guys as its been a while.. :) :)
PS Think ive posted in the wrong section... Barmy can slap me later!

Ayup,

Barmy lists the airgaps in this thread https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?topic=4407.0

I'd send the legs off to get rechromed. I use hardchromeplating.co.uk last year when I asked it was £150 a pair, plus your postage to them. I had mine done about 50k ago & they've stood up as well if not better than the original chrome. It needs to be hard chrome, not decorative stuff.

Howdoo Hooli. :hat:
I was told around £90 Per leg with an 8 week turnaround by the shop which sounds about right. I will message Barmy later about the air gap. Then again is says 150mm air gap with progressives in so i will go with that meethnks. Cheers HOOOOOOLI :smitten:
Cheers.

Welcome back @Shineysideup
A set of my forks are away at hardchromeplating.co.uk as we speak .
I have the same set up as you re springs ECT.
I was told after market forks are thinner sidewalls and not quite the same quality as Suzuki forks , the only problem being Suzuki only dip the folks in chrome for 60 mins so they are shiney ,when they are re chromed they are dipped for 7/8 hours so the chrome is much better .
Aftermarket legs will also need re chromed in time so do what you have then you know what you've got .
only a slightly modified gsx1400

Decided to get replacement fork stanchions fitted. Ordered from Brooks Suspension a set of the Tarozzi units. Had them sent directly to KAIS who will fit and then fit new seals etc to the forks. Just waiting to be called to say they are done.
