You`re right Irish - it was a mini Katana . I believe the model run only lasted 2/3 years, so a very rare little bike!

The GSX250S was the Katana model in the same vain the GSX650G was a Katana. Better model was the Japan market only Retro 250 Katana of the 1990’s which had the 4 cylinder motor and Katana fairing. Some grey imports were available.

Bloke at work has a GSX250 for his wife, IL4 engine that rev's it's nuts off!   4 cyl 250cc, bit loopy I reckon, but there ya go.

I had the GSF250 - the baby bandit, 4 cyl 4 stroke with miking flat slide carbs.revved all the way to 12000rpm. 

Was great fun, all 37kw of it.

Only 12000rpm I'm sure the Across is 16000.

Across listed at 14500. 1998 gsxr 250 at 17k. 250 Honda at 19k. Best ive seen in car, twin cam corolla, faulty rev limiter, 12k, they say theycan go 16 and not break. Mate had V8 Porsche, could do 10k.

Across power rating is at 14500 from memory it goes to 16500.

I always wanted an Across back in the day.  It's party trick - flick the fuel door and hide the number plate could have come in handy

I believe that these days maintenance is a bit of an issue though given the relatively high stress the engine is under, difficulty in obtaining parts etc.   Shame.
