Some recent fuel "economy" stats:
(Primarily commuting in stop start traffic)
All 91RON (91) unless otherwise stated.

18.45 litres for 244.7 kilometers = 7.54 litres/100km
17.27 / 230.4 =  7.50 litres/100km
17.08 / 230.6 =  7.41 litres/100km
17.09 / 230.9 =  7.40 litres/100km
19.05 (98) / 256 =  7.44 litres/100km
19.31 / 260.5 =   7.41 litres/100km   (my tank and last bar were 'flashing' for this fill)

So it seems that I'm getting between 7.4 and 7.5 litres/100kms, with no advantage from premium fuel.
Based on that my maximum theoretical range would be 293-297kms. (assuming 100% usage of 22 litres, not realistic.)

I've been getting these figures since the Yoshi cams were fitted.
Before that  was getting in the region of 6.5.
The only record I can find 17.58l / 279.6 kms = 6.28 l/100kms

@Teufel any idea of what your yoshi'ed 1400 is getting?

Interested to know how everyone else's consumption figures stack up?

Recent fuel use stats, some highway running in here & occasional heavy handed (6.3)

Km Distance   Fuel       L/100K
336                   95            5.69
281                   95          6.30
277                   95          5.38
282                  100          6.09
328                   95          5.51    -   5.51 was done using the 100 octane.  I did 282k at 6.09L/100k, filled with 100 octane and the next 328k was using the 100, giving 5.51 using that. Make what you will of it, it's just what happened.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Mine has never varied thru 3 diff exhausts. 5.5 per 100. Best was 5.2.

So Vlad, for the extra 1.0L/100km sacrificed to Pop Yoshimura, is the power noticeably different? More ponies means you gotta feed em more.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

VladTepes

If I really get on the throttle then yeah the power is there alright!

Thing is I rarely ride at those higher revs because speed turns illegal quickly...

Am I glad I got it done - hell yes.

BUT I was very fortunate to buy the cams from a forum member at a good price, and have another forum member install them for me (and install a suitable map to the PC3).

I'd not have been able to justify it at retail and paying to install / dyno.

Never measured it, but I went to Caloundra and had to fill up on the Southside on the way home.
I think it works out at just over, or around 300 for the full tank.

Sorry I can't be more help.
Maybe you'd like a spare set of pillion foot rests?
ARE YOU LISTENING, CHRIS?

Teufel

Sorry, it was Maroochydore, so a bit better than that.
You know, it was so long ago, I'm not sure if I'd done the cams by then.

Please ignore.

Oh that's right, you do already, don't you Chris?

Teufel

Ha Ha.
No not drunk, just caffeined to the hilt.
I love Thursday breakfast.

OMG I've never forgotten, life gets in the way Peter. I may be a procrastinator also

However, having said that, I will make it my priority to get them from you ASAP. Thanks for the prod  :worshippy: :worshippy:

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

Just havin' a laugh.
They're in the glove box, so next week, next month or whenever is good for me.
Hoping to pick up a GSXR 600 in Mt Gravatt East on Saturday.
Just so you know.

Odometer: 140,500 kms

Latest issue when key is in the lock position (steering locked) it is proving almost impossible to unlock the steering/move the switch.

Took 15 minutes yesterday and I was in a hurry too (of course)  :furious:

I'm hoping I can resolve it via https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?topic=6268.0  and  https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?topic=6266.0

Just need to figure out and ensure I have the necessary tools and parts.
Also need to know how long the job will take from start to finish.

Hooli

I think it was an hour or two when I did my ignition barrel, but that was working it out as I went along.
