Not getting involved, i change my oil Synnex 3000, every 5th ks. Costs around $35 with filter, no brainer i reckon. No tools required except filter remover cap,Ratchet and extension, drain valve fitted. Usally let it drain 4 hours, arrive at work, do the rest at lunch time.

OIL , OIL , OIL ,,
Just saying,  I Bought my K5 about a year ago. The Previos owner was using Motul 5100 10w-40 Semi Synthetic Oil in the Motor.
After reading lots of forums on and about the GSX1400, I noticed that a lot of GSX1400 owners used Gulf Western SYN-X 3000 10W-40 Semi-Synthetic Oil with good results and it is   1/2 the cost of Motul Oil.
They also said the Golf Western Semi Oil made the gear changes a bit smoother.
So last Oil change, I also changed my Bike to Gulf Western 10w-40 Semi-Synthetic Oil, which was 5000 klms ago.
I did NOT notice any smoother gear shift using the Gulf Western Semi Synthetic at all.
Anyway today I bought from Supercheap 4 x 5-liter containers of Gulf Western SYN-X 3000 10w-40 because it was selling for under $30 for 5lts.
BUT
What I did not notice, was that the SYN-X 3000 I bought today was in fact "Fully Synthetic" with Zinc enhanced. NOT Semi
So
2 hours ago I changed my Oil filter and put in the new 10w-40 SYN-X 3000 "Fully Synthetic" Zinc enhanced Oil into my K5 and took the Bike for a 100 k ride. Yahoo.
I am VERY PLEASED to report that this Gulf Western SYH-X 3000  "Full Synthetic" 10w-40 zinc-enhanced Oil seems great in every way.
My Bike Motor now seems a lot SMOOOOTHER and very Quite
and also the Gear Change is now very smooth. It is miles smoother than it was before. It is not notchy anymore, ""Happy Days""

Web says syn-x 3000 10w40 is 'synthetic', reading the blurb on this grade, its a semi synthetic, "...formulated using a combination of synthetic and premium hydrotreated mineral base oils..."  I guess they get away with calling synthetic as only part of the oil is.

The Syn-x 5000 5w40 is listed as full synthetic.

So imho syn-x 3000 10w40 is not a full synthetic oil.....

Anyway, glad you feel it's made a difference  Happy motoring.

I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Doing the oil and filter over the weekend. Another dose of Gulf Western Syn-x 3000 been using it for a while now. Did'nt like the Motul 5100 even tried Motul 300V that was even worse.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

It might be just a bit more extra added Zinc in this new Gulf Western SYN-X 3000 Oil,  that's sold in this new GOLD container.
The old  GULF WESTERN Syn-x 3000 "Semi Synthetic" 10w-40  that I bought and used in the Bike last time, is in a Grey container with Semi written on it , see attached Photo
BUT
there is one thing 4 sure, it is like a new Bike to ride as far as Gear Changing goes.
She is now changing Gears without clunking and binding sometimes,,, it is now more  like my 2 x  FJ1200 Yamaha Bikes, Smooth
