OIL , OIL , OIL ,,
Just saying, I Bought my K5 about a year ago. The Previos owner was using Motul 5100 10w-40 Semi Synthetic Oil in the Motor.
After reading lots of forums on and about the GSX1400, I noticed that a lot of GSX1400 owners used Gulf Western SYN-X 3000 10W-40 Semi-Synthetic Oil with good results and it is 1/2 the cost of Motul Oil.
They also said the Golf Western Semi Oil made the gear changes a bit smoother.
So last Oil change, I also changed my Bike to Gulf Western 10w-40 Semi-Synthetic Oil, which was 5000 klms ago.
I did NOT notice any smoother gear shift using the Gulf Western Semi Synthetic at all.
Anyway today I bought from Supercheap 4 x 5-liter containers of Gulf Western SYN-X 3000 10w-40 because it was selling for under $30 for 5lts.
BUT
What I did not notice, was that the SYN-X 3000 I bought today was in fact "Fully Synthetic" with Zinc enhanced. NOT Semi
So
2 hours ago I changed my Oil filter and put in the new 10w-40 SYN-X 3000 "Fully Synthetic" Zinc enhanced Oil into my K5 and took the Bike for a 100 k ride. Yahoo.
I am VERY PLEASED to report that this Gulf Western SYH-X 3000 "Full Synthetic" 10w-40 zinc-enhanced Oil seems great in every way.
My Bike Motor now seems a lot SMOOOOTHER and very Quite
and also the Gear Change is now very smooth. It is miles smoother than it was before. It is not notchy anymore, ""Happy Days""
