replacement fuel pump help needed.

This is good info.

I have been looking to run a external fuel pump for my 1700cc..( one day.. i promise  )

- Has anyone experience with the electrical draw from the original suzuki pump on the system?

It looks like a replacement pump like the Walbro GSS242 -  190 lph "standard version" will draw

5.7Amps at 12V: 40psi@40Gallon per hour  / 2.7bar@155liter per hour

6.0Amps at 12V: 50psi@36Gallon per hour / 3.4bar@136liter per hour

Seems that Walbro pumps have good efficiency.
I wasn't sure for original pump wires and relays, so I put an extra 40 amp relay for a new VAG pump.
Once it burned its 15A fuse, so I measured it: max 14.2 amps.
I changed to 20A fuse and it has worked now three years..

Well I was about to buy the Bosch but the Walbro was 50€ cheaper, and the sales person was good :D He had his doubts for the Bosch would be "enough" and as I watched the dyno guy last time crank everything up from the PC3, I thought that I cant go wrong with "too big" of a pump. Most probably the old pump was acting up all ready at that time.

The next thing to be too small would be either the ignition side of the valves...

I'm also looking for a new pump. Despite much cleaning thru the current one i'm not getting good pressure at higher revs. There seems to be few options available.
Has anyone used the American High Flow pump from Fuel Performance ?

Also check eBay here and in Europe for a gsxr600/750/1000 pump as they can also fit the gsx1400 if you swop the mounting plates .
@Blubber uses a gsxr fuel pump on his gsx1400.

I'm sure i used one of their fuel pumps for my Buell, had no problems

Hi Gentlemen.
I've got the bike running again now and can report that the fuel pump i've fitted works good.
Previously the bike had struggled to rev past 5k and when it was on the dyno at John Warringtons he said the bike was literally running out of fuel and rigged up a remote supply to prove the point.
The new pump is a bit noisier but i can live with that.

@Shane Pashen How did the Mitsubishi pump work out?

Pricks like this Shane Pashen really piss me off. Remember him? Maybe not but he's the one who started this thread with his tirade about the cost of a fuel pump and asking for advice. That was on the 16th July '17. Advice given, so the next day he informs us that he'd bought a $28 pump.

Ten months later Andre asks the above question. He's had another 13 months to answer. Even a simple yes or no would have done and is a thank you too much to ask?

Am I too old school to expect some common courtesy? Probably. Did Shane Pashen get his bike going? Shit I hope not.

Common courtesy is becoming less common. At least that's my impression.
