I know pressure goes up with temp. Has anyone ever checked how much. I always check mine cold, never ever checked after a hot ride. Our roads get that hot, cant walk on them with bare feet. Something ill do, pity its not hot now. Only will be 15 in morning, just set pressures, will check in morning after 20ks on cool roads.

From a googling, it expands 1% for every 6C the temp increases.

Did the check today, 15 degrees ambient temp. Tyres at 36f 42r 100k round trip and tyre temp was 34f 36 r. And pressure was

That's very thorough Steve, thanks!

So, at start:

Tire Temp:   Front PSI      Rear PSI
     15              36              42

100K run

Tire Temp:    Front PSI    Rear PSI
34 & 36             39            46

😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

that looks better, it looked ok on my phone when i did it

Yep, seems the old 3psi rule holds true then...

That is to say expect about a 3psi increase over cold inflation pressure.

I run at 34f/38r  cold.  Now just to check my analogue tyre gauge is still accurate.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

It's interesting to see how much variation there is in people's settings.

I think the primary difference is the tyres used, and secondarily the riding style (twisty roads vs highway etc).

I run 38/40  (and am trying 38/42 as I'm a bit overweight these days) on Michie Pilot Road 4's.
Anything lower - especially in the front - has a definite under-inflated feel

When I get the Metzelers fitted I will see what the guy recommends pressure-wise.
