Did the Oxley last week and will be doing it again in a fortnight.
I won't be able to make it next year, I hope Rogues can lol.
Gonna miss your dry humour Jeff.
Have fun in the old country.
:onya:
Think I mentioned it Bov, but I can't make it, as I will be in Hong Kong for work.
Leaving on Sat & same time every year.
As Arnie in Terminator said "I'll be baarrk" :rofl2: :rofl2: Looking forward to it already :coffeescreen: :coffeescreen:
OK sorted - I'll be in room 1.

Bov - let me know if you want any changes etc.
Cheers
Hopefully Rogues can take my spot, ;)
Will post this up on the facebook site for those without org access
Catty and myself checked it out yesterday on the way through Wauchope. Accommodation looks modern, Pub looks OK and the cafe looks small but a stone throw from where you are staying.
Stayed at the timbertown a number of times jeff. On par on price with most other places in town but far nicer. The pub across the road is a real bonus, big quality meals with an outdoor area too.
Dunno about the cafe but its convenient.......
C'mon people we are on the downhill run to this even... just five months.
So who's in ?!
According to the OP only Bov and I have booked so far? Surely that's not right... ?
If it's just the 2 of you, perhaps you could bunk up at Rogues place?
It is still 5 months I am quite confident there will be more people! Just wiondering if anyone else has 'booked' a room. If so let me and Bov know and I'll add it to the OP.

I have done it a couple of times now, but i know you have probably lost count of the times you have done it now Jeff. Great bit of road & good to do it both ways if you can while you are there.
Steve, I usually do it at least once if not twice a year on a classic bike with a few mates from Taree doing a loop ride Wauchope, Walcha, Gloucester back to Taree, usually alternate direction, I love the mountain section of Thunderbolts. Bikes including Katana, XJ900, CB350/4, RD400. Fastest run up the Oxley to Gingers Creek was probably on the FJR being pushed by Buddy on the 14 :stir:
The 210km from Wauchope to Enfield Rd Yarrowitch and back is the best. If you keep going from Enfield Rd to Walcha it's 60km of boring highway.https://www.google.com.au/maps/dir/-31.3158327,151.979145/Wauchope+NSW/@-31.4031114,152.0734097,10z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m9!4m8!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0x6b75fed355a47327:0x50609b490441fc0!2m2!1d152.7325131!2d-31.4721352!3e0
Same goes for Thunderbolts, Pete. Boring between Walcha and Nowendoc, but they made the roads like that so we can wear the centre out.
Anyone coming up from down south?? looks like Boof is gunna make the journey from Victoria :o ...... and he'd probably like company
Hey Chris! Nice to see ya! Where ya been? So, you putting your place up as a rest stop then?
Hi Ragu 😜
I just may attend, but its still to far to comit 🙈
Bielie it's an excused to get out of Canberra. I'd be committing to that as early, and as often, as possible :) (if I were silly enough to live there).

Hi Jeff
All is very well thanx, was just caught up with my own stuff.
Vlad there is nothing wrong with this country town.
I got notification from Ingo today. I'm in just need to book a room. :boogie: :boogie: :boogie:
Room booked only 5 left
I'll be there.
I'll ride up Friday night from newcastle if anyone wants a riding buddy. I will stay in Port Macquarie though as my wife lives there.
Might bring her along on the back depending I'm what pace you guys usually set?
Hi Vlad. Just booked room #6 which is a queen + single. On my own if anyone wants to share a room.

Hi Dan
I have a few comments on this:
1. Sorry I can't ride up with you as I won't be in Oz.
2. I would leave her in Port Mac so you can get into it if you want.
3. Pace, well some may not leave the pub if it is to cold or raining, ride the Oxley to your limit or bring the wife along.
Main thing is enjoy it, I always have.
Jeff
P.S. Just remembered you can also go to a Massage Parlour instead of the ride.
Not sure if this is the best place for this post.
Came from Walcha to Gingers Creek yesterday morning - roadworks on our side of the road in the twisty bit coming in to Gingers Creek (fairly long patches from the road's edge and about 0.5m wide) - soft loose bitumen had the rear squirrelling around a bit.
Take care all.
@GSXKING which room did you book?
Anyone else booked not reflected in the OP of this thread? Please let me know and I'll update it.
I'm unsure of a number Vlad. Lady on the phone just confirmed with an e-mail no room number on it either.
OK attendees updated. Anyone else?
Yep - I'm booked in - he didn't want to give me a room number just in case someone else decides to extend their stay!! :whatever:
No worries thanks
@Beaker
Hi, Yep I have made it back here and have booked a room (don't know the number).
Any one from Melbourne heading up?
Throwback to MCR3 in 2010 on the ride up to Bathurst with the Melbourne mob - even had a Burgmann on the ride!!
Hi Boof 👊👊
Will the pink tu-tu make an appearance this year Boof?
Rocket ron and his mate are comin not sure which room no. They have.
Also Ingo was talking about driving up after his off last month but not sure will msg him.
Room booked - no idea what number... :whatever:
Will be riding up with Boof - see you there.

Where are u coming from Bruce?
I was all good til I read Pink Tutu...
Anyone taking more than 3 days ex Brisbane?
One more question, what does MCR stand for?
In Aussie it's More Colon Reaming :whistling: in UK it's Magic Carpet Ride :onya:
On this side of the ditch it stands for Maximum Corners Route.

not sure if anyone is going for more than 3, would like to but doesnt look possible this year. The pink Tutu was worn by anyone who stuffed up a few years ago, dont even know if its still around.
loxsmith I am considering going on to Sydney afterwards to catch up with some mates and then work my back back up the coast.
I am leaving from Bundaberg. Guess it will take a couple of days to get to Wauchope.

Bruce why not come down and saty overnight and then head down with us Brissy crowd in the morning.
Sounds the go.
Where do you meet in Brisbane before heading south.
I see you have asked this in the other thread and Bov has answered :)

Now we have cleared up the Tutu issue, I can't think of any reason why I shouldn't go... I'm not scared, I'm in. My budget normally extends to swagging it, does any non snorer want to share a room? It's likely I will take an extra day to get home. So Fri to Tues for me. I have a room and beer for the Bruce riding from Bundaberg (I live in Albany Creek)

PM me if you want the address
Glen
Lucky its not this weekend........... chucking it down all over the east coast, plus.......... council in their wisdom has seen fit to have corners repaired all over the goddamn mountain so loose gravel makes it a skating rink.... :/
Loxsmith.
PM sent

Well just a week away, hopefully the weather is kind, see you all there

Think we said 7.30 departure from Beauy GSXKing but im easy, Beaker Vlad wots the verdict
I can make a 7am departure no worries - up to Vlad as he is leaving the earliest BUT we did originally say 7:30 and I believe that we should stick to that in case someone randomly shows up.
I messed up guys. Washed my bike today which means it will rain soon
Anyway, what time will you guys meet Saturday morning? I will he leaving newcastle late after work tomorrow and staying in Port Macquarie so won't be meeting for drinks unfortunately.
Not sure will post tomorrow when its decided
hope you blokes enjoy. next year ill be coming.
I'm at Curlys gents :onya:
We're apparently due for rain midday so if I don't see you's before I eat brekky I am going to head up the mountain early to get a good run in.
I might see some of you though.
Ride safe all :boogie:
Hope you guys all have a great weekend & safe journey. I'll be thinkin of ya tonight when I down a few coldies. Cheers.
Same from me, have a great weekend.
Look forward to some photos and a few words after.
Travel safe.
There seem to be a lot of bikes in that video Bov. Were they all part of MCR or some from the FJR group who were on the mountain too. My FJR mate said he followed a group of 1400's but also said a lot of them had no idea when it came to taking corners.

Yeah there were some FJR's that got caught up in our group Pete. Dunno about criticizing other riders, probably just the usual dick waving. Everyone had fun, got home safe and had a blast. Looking forward to Jindabyne next year.
Just got home. 2370 klm round trip.
Had a great time. Good to put face's to names.

MCR 9 FJR on World Tour at Ginger's Creek, Oxley.
Top weekend guys - most enjoyable!
Thanks again to those organising - great job.
3500kms; 210L fuel; Unknown but hugely significant quantities of beer, pies and egg and bacon rolls!!!
Having taken in the Crookwell/Oberon Road, Bells Line, Putty Road, Oxley Hwy (twice!), Bathurst/Crookwell Road and Bylong Valley Way in NSW, had to finish up with the Murray River Road, Tawonga Gap Road, Whitfield/Mansfield Road and the Reefton Spur in Vic.
:onya:
3500!! Bloody staggering. Fantastic effort Black14. That's more than twice the length of NZ! Think we're about 1500k top to bottom - as the crow flies anyway.

He is a good bloke Chris & also a very fast but safe rider with enough brains to know that 1300cc, a 5 speed box and all that luggage would make passing an empty 1400 difficult. If you'd have let him through he'd have been out of site in about 5 corners. He's done around 400,000km on that bike so he's had plenty of practice.
The Stig put in more kms than me. Met me and Boof at Lilydale from Somerville when we left. Boof back to Blackburn via the highway from Mansfield. Me and Stig via the Reefton. I headed home to Mount Evelyn from Hoddles Creek on the Gembrook road. Stig had another 75km or so to go.
And he went all the way to Walcha on Saturday's ride whereas I went maybe 20km past Gingers and back to the Long Flat pub.
So longest distance award definitely to the Stig.
:notworthy:
Don't think we've met the Stig on here, best ya get him to call in then?
Aint it amazing how yer fingers work different after a few beers an a bottle of whine . . . .
