Still looking.

A few new models out but still no Jap, in-line 4 big bore brutes.

Big powerful and stupid ticks the box's, a bit of handling would be nice.
Needs to be a Jap. No Euro or Yank bikes.
(Although I briefly thought about a Rocket 111)

I even thought about a V-Max but it looks like they have been dropped too.

Not sure about Africa Twins. Not really my thing.

H2, H2-SX still look appealing.

The huge barge of the 1800 F6B still looks stupidly amusing but not sure I'd take long to get bored.

Sadly the days of GSX1400's, B-Kings, V-Max upright naked thug bikes seems to be over.

Think youre right Tony. nothing in jap stable to choose. as im getting older/weaker my next will be smaller/lighter. not for a while yet. when i turn 70 will buy a 1200 bonneville to see me out.

I could be bike hunting in 10 weeks time but there's nothing really that I'd be happy to put my money down on. Most of the bikes I like are 10 years old or older.

Funny, ever since I was a kid there's been something in the showroom to drool over, but not much since 2008.

I've just been offered a go on one of those in the pic.
It's be remapped / deresricted / modded, and the owner is VERY impressed.

Aparently, the ECU and air filters are the biggest restrictions.
Fixing both of these is said to make a huge difference.

One local bike was dyno'd at 234hp still with the OEM pipe.

I'd love to buy another Suzuki but they aren't in the same league at the moment.

It is euro but have you tried the BMW R1200GS Adventure (My warm weather bike)
I have a 2008 (+ a 2012 R1200RT - my cool weather ride)
The Good
- 33L tank gets about 5.?L per 100 kms.
- Range of approx 600+ kms.
- Great brakes, shaft drive, sit on it all day.
- Have put 91,000 kms on it and I have several rides.
- Can carry a shit load of stuff in the 3 panniers.
- Ride to the shop or the other side of the country.
The Not so Good
- Not what you'd call high performance.

I have a few mates who love their BM's, but not really my thing.

Not an in-line 4 / not chain drive / lacks horsepower and top end.

As a more dedicated tourer maybe, not not for the drags and chasing mates on a Sunday as well as touring.

Thats a great looking bike Tony. Looks so practical, centrestand , panniers, Superb colour. Jap 4 cyl reliability. Exocet missile power.Top of the tree brakes etc. A bike for every occasion. Ticks my imagination on a new bike. I really didnt need new ideas in my head but, never too old. A brilliant choice.

Just need to sort out some money or it's back to another Busa, but the more I read on the SX the more it seems what I'm after...

Close to $35k is book price but I've seen them go for $33k.
There are two SX models but I think we only get the higher SE version in AU.

That's about three times as much as I could justify on a bike. :(

Justify mind you, to the wife, but I would if I could....

If money is no object, then that looks like a great choice Tony  :onya:
