Got my GSX1400 new 56, every year I have unscrewed the header bolts cleaned them and covered them in silver slip grease before refitting. I have always done this having had a nightmare with my GSXR1100 years ago. Although I have been told steel and alloy have a reaction, I have also been told copper slip can make this reaction worse. So I started to use silver slip grease years ago but not really knowing if its any better. I do the header bolts every year so I don't really know if it's the grease or the fact I do them every year that works. I am thinking now that there's got to be a product we can use that's going to work on this steel alloy thing. Can anyone offer any advice. Thanks nick.

Nickelslip is what most guys use on headers, it can take the extra heat.  Each to their own though.

Permatex Nickel gets good reviews

I always use Nickelslip on header bolts. Far better than Coppaslip as it's more resistant to high temps.
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

Yep Nickelslip is the preffered "slip" as it takes the extra heat
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement
