Mister Fishfinger

Have I gone mad, or is the K5+ cartridge tool diagram posted by V_i_c_i still in the downloads section? I could have sworn I looked at it recently but now I can't find it. Gonna need to make one soon...

:onya:

Oh yes, thank you. I didn't expect it to be in "Manuals", I was looking in "General". Sorry about that.

You can see a couple of pics of Del's DIY tool by clicking on the post link. Maybe @Del could give us the measurements.

I did something similar but welded a socket onto the end of it

you need the later one with the welded bent washer on it
col as del's is for the earlier models .

just for info on either tool the pipe needs to be big enough to clear the nut on the damper rod i think thats 12mm but will check and modify the post .

As to the pic I attached, the guy owns a K3,so this should work. Dimensions: 40cm long, 22mm outer diameter, the 2 noses are 3mm wide and 5mm deep. 2 noses are a bit easier to make than 4.

There are 3 different fork tubes and 2 different cartridge setups on the gsx1400 over the years .
If you do a search of the suspension section you will see pictures of the differences between them all.
