Totally not bike related, sorry about that. Does anyone use an air fryer? Just got one a month or so back. Quite amazed its changed our cooking habits. Havent had a failure yet, so easy clean. Takes me a while to catch on with new stuff.
Had one for a few years and amazing - mrs Notty doesn't cook, hasn't in. 47 years of marriage so anything that makes my kitchen life easier is great :)
We love our air frier, we got the biggest one from breville. Makes really really good beer batter chips, the ones you normally cook in the oven type.
Also spring rolls, dim aims etc all come up great. Crumbed Chicken fillets also great. Can do fried chicken almost like KFC too.
It's like the GSX1400 of kitchen appliances....
My Son and his gf use one. He said they wouldn't be without it.
Her Mum and Dad are getting them a new one for Christmas. It's the all singing and dancing twin basket Ninja Foodi Max Dual Zone model.

@Notty this quote has me wondering exactly what special skills Mrs Notty has to keep her around for 47 years if she DOESN'T COOK 😳😳😳
Yeah Chris, also wondering. My Wife is the best cook but hates it. Puts up with my inferior options just so she doesnt have to cook. Great when she does, always superb. Usually 3 a week from her.
Me and the missus are on a diet but I do like a treat now and then so I've been thinking an air fryer might be a good thing to have?
Whats the best one to buy?
The biggest & hottest you can get your hands on.
This is tempting and I've heard good things from a couple of owners
https://auspost.com.au/shop/product/mistral-10l-digital-healthy-air-fryer-black-51634
It says that one is no longer available Vlad.
This is the one we've got; https://www.tradedepot.co.nz/midea-air-fryer-4l Very happy with it. Does chips / hash browns great not to mention bacon and sausages.
Vlad, K Mart 5.3, works perfectly. $89. If it stuffs up they replace it. At work we have Phillips $259 job, no better. IMO. That 10litre is huge option, bigger is always better.
This is the one we have - perfect

Eric, I'm trying to stop the Pommes from cooking everything in a deep fat fryer.
If it's not a deep fat fryer it shouldn't be doing chips.

@DP1400
Wouldn't be without an airfryer now it's another essential part of the kitchen now IMHO. No mess and you can fine tune how crispy you want things with a bit of practice. We get truffle arancini from Woolworths and they are better than any restaurant meal I've had. :worshippy:
Seems odd to hear of Woolworths as they went bust over here years ago.
We have two megamonopolies in Australia, Woolworths owned by South African Co. and Coles not sure it's wholly Australian owned. They own food, alcohol (pubs & bottle shops), Petrol, Smokes and any number of other consumables. I heard 30 cents in every dollar spent in Australia is touched by these oligarch like empires. They definitely have influence in the political sphere. No Covid shutdowns for any of their business' and they have made record profits during the Covid period so far. They are looking to employ 3000 people in the next 6 months.

or fry your chips at home wrap in paper and tuck them under the seat, head to your picnic spot and enjoy. Even enough room for a bottle of HP if you so desire
I expect better planning than that from someone with the rank of 'Road Warrior'!
Wrap them in foil & shove on top of the downpipes behind the oil cooler to keep them hot as you ride there.

Coles now selling Duck Spring rolls as 6 pack with hoisin sauce, a little pricey but taste incredible after 20 min at 200 in airfryer :onya: :worshippy:
Awesome. We do the Party Mix: samosas, spring rolls, dim sums, mini money bags, all fantastic in the AF.
Both sound good.👍Last night super hot chicken chilli strips, so nice.

And here I thought Mistral only made ceiling fans....
Far from slow but my Mistral is white, will put some blue tape on it, itll be fastest cooker ever.
10 litre! Mine is 4 and I'm lucky to use 1 litre.
Family of 5, 10l sometimes isn't enough.....
OK so we'll have it in next few days apparently - time to find some good recipes.
would like to be able to do a good fish and chips in it?
Also I have a small boneless roast so I'll figure out how to do that one too.
Can you cook pies in them at all (to save heating up the big oven?)
Re fish and chips - yes it does the best. Even reheating store bought tastes way better.
Re meat pies, we do from frozen 60 sec in the microwave upside down, then 5 to10min in the AF at 180deg c depends how crispy you like the crust.
When we do a pork roast, it goes in the main 900mm pyrolytic oven as the AF is too small. However, I do the rind in the AF to make the crackle 20min on 200 deg C makes great crackle. Otherwise the skin dries out too much in the normal oven.
I cook most stuff on 180. Best recipe, one arm cooking👍Thats because the other is holding a beer. Works for me.
Well we love our new air fryer.
Having said that maybe we didn't need a 10l one after all - that's pretty damn big for two people...
Never too big Mate. A chook and lots of vegies, youll be glad.
Didnt know you could cook a roast chook in it?
As long as you didn't buy a CuisinArt - they are built to fail!

We were thinking about getting an air frier due to the rising cost of leccy in the UK. My Son gave us their old one to try out and see if we liked it. I have to say that for a first attempt at cooking KFC style chicken and chips it was very good. Need to experiment a bit with getting the chips done right though.
Overall..Impressed with it.
