Hopefully picking up a new laptop this morning.
Came back from a relaxing weekend away with Mrs F to de-stress after the last few weeks of family chaos. Samsung laptop had been playing up for a while when booting..Blank black screen. My son OJ pulled it apart and checked everything and came to the professional conclusion that the motherboard had died. Not surprising really after 8 years of use.
Been working on a borrowed laptop for the last few days and it's been hard going as it doesn't have the programmes on it that I normally use..Photoshop etc.

This time I've gone for an Asus Tuf 17.3" i5 with 8Gb of Ram and a 1Tb hard drive.

I also got myself a car for winter commuting..I've had enough of riding in all weathers now. It's become a bit of a chore, especially as my Arthritis is rapidly getting worse.
It worked out rather well really..I bought another Astra VXR. My Son had my red one for what the dealer offered me p/ex..And I had his  Ford Fiesta. His "Cherry bomb" exhaust has got to go though as it's way too noisy even by my standards :rofl2:

I received a new TomTom Rider 550 from Sportsbikeshop.com
Plenty of bedtime reading in the manual that came with it.

cant say, I really need them, but it was quite good price: 18.50€ each...
So I have 2 more clams now :)

I've just decided I need some clamps as well, can't imagine how I've been getting along without them.  Tool shopping, yay.

Today bought a cheap master cylinder. My thinking that 14 brakes need a longer pull, more pressure. Either for 4 pots or 6 pots. I need to prove my theory. Reducing bore size to 14mm from 17 is what ive worked out. With help. To try a Brembo or Nissin cylinder close to $400. I found a bolt on Chinese for nearly nothing, have ordered. If it works, will then order a Brembo. Results will be of course posted. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/7-8-14mm-Front-Right-Motorcycle-Hydraulic-Brake-Master-Cylinder-Clutch-Lever/192746985043?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3Db9caf77c8b2a4752a887048c24a6c9db%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D192746985043%26itm%3D192746985043%26pg%3D2481888&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Ac0db0c86-b374-11e9-b472-74dbd180440a%7Cparentrq%3A4756c43a16c0a9e423bce121fffcbb53%7Ciid%3A1

Grog. Think l saw them casting those in an old wok on a gas bbq when l was in China .....
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

grog

Yeah, theyre clever. Other places use up to date milling machines, digital computer processors, they just use a bbq. They sell for 20 bucks others for 400, both do same job.  :boogie:

Nearly a thousand pounds worth of treated pine after discount.

They've been tried on other forums I'm on.
General consensus is...They're rubbish and don't fit them if you value your life :onya:

I bought one similar for my Yamaha RD400 to use until I repaired or replaced the original.
Absolute rubbish lever goes back to the grip, lucky the RD has a lethal back brake.

Thanks fellas. Ill bin it when it gets here. Back to the drawing board.

Just reading this post about Chinese masters - long story short, I brought one for an old Honda 350 quad, fitted it up & bled it profusely all to no avail, the lever just kept going to the bar.  I figured it must be something in the old calipers.   Reading the above, would appear it's the new cyl is at fault.  Might have to resurrect the oem cyl for it.

Opened the throttle on a 650 scooter once, not sure of make, was on  a job to jump start it. Old mate wanted me to test ride, make sure all ok. I never took any notice much, just thought a normal 90 or 100cc. Took off with full power, f*** me, front wheel became taller than me. Thats how i learnt about larger scooters.
