A big thanks to Bov for organising this. :onya:
Hey mate, did they say if there is anywhere to throw a swag down? most biker events at country pubs have beer gardens/balconies/grassed area that they don't mind people chucking a swag on for the night
I really don't know mate.
Bov is probably the man to ask - perhaps contact him, try PM here or more likely will get info ion this via the Aussie FB group if you are on that. I know Bov monitors that reasonably often.

There's probably someof you know this area like the back of your hand, but in any event for tripplanning a local-isg guy has toldme:

Waterfall way from the coast to Dorrigo is a really great ride Michael. Also the Kyogle to Uki then over the range via Tyalgum and Chillingham. I'd give the Putty a miss these days unless you haven't done it before (really rough last time I rode it). Thunderbolt's Way from Gloucester to Uralla still a good ride esp the top half
I'll probably do the usual.
kyogle, casino, grafton, ebor, Dorrigo and possibly the same home
What is it about 5ish hours down?
5 or 6

Very nice pic's guys. Shame we can't get anything like that happening over this side of the ditch.
I'll be with you in spirit though - mostly JD spirit, but it's the thought that counts, right ¿
Kiwi - you have boats there don't ya ? Stick the bike on one and come over !
(yeah, I know, I have the same problem)
One day mate, one day.
I would like to bring the bike over & do a bit of a lap, call in and see a few online peeps. Mrs wants to come over & do the big lap with a car (4wd drive) and caravan when we retire, I'd like to have a bike too.

Cheers
Steve
Great to hear Steve will arrange something later am sure we will meet on another ride before then. Looks like a have someone interested in tagging along from Newcastle.

just booked a room it's a double I believe. if someone has booked a twin I don't mind shareing. Then someone/couple can have mine..Fine if not
Wife and I are "Maybe's"
If we go we will sort out our own accommodation somewhere local closer to the date. We both have a few things to try and sort before then, but that's plenty of notice.
I think Dorrigo's about 5 hours max from Brissy Northside ? ....
Just called the pub. I mentioned the GSX1400 club.
Nothing available on the Friday, 1 room on the Saturday.
Hey Tony.
Theres a few looking for shares that have already booked rooms so if we can pair some of these up it will free something up.
So who's booked a whole room and needs a roomy.
I know my mate Jeff is one and pretty sure Rogues and Barry are 2 more, if these guys can confirm please
Just noticed Dangles has a double and is happy to bunk with someone, so who wants company?
Thanks for the offer. Not a problem yet. I'll have word with my Mrs.
She's talking about stretching the week out and having a few days own there.
I'll see wat she has in mind for accommodation.

I'll do you a huge favour - I will come down from Cairns, ride your bike and Dinky you :stir: :rofl2:
What does the term "Dinky you" mean?
It's a new one for me as well Dave, but I'm picking it means being a pillion.
Hmm you might just be right. Just googled it and got this back:
"verb - transitive. to give someone a ride on the handlebars of one's bicycle. Australian. We gotta get there quick - I'll dinky you."
In the UK, Dinky is slang for "Double Income No Kids Yet" as well as used for something small, probably from the Triang firm who produced Dinky Cars (model cars) for kids to play with back in 60's and 70's.
Never heard it being used for riding on handlebars though..... :whatever:
https://www.macquariedictionary.com.au/resources/aus/word/map/search/word/dinky/The%20Riverina/
A Dinky in Oz was always one of the smallest version of tricycle....... usually with a smallish tray at the back, or a good one had a footplate behind the rider..for a passenger to perch....... so you could 'dink'a mate down the street on it...
Hi, Ho, Silver............... away

My shoulder is still quite sore, I haven't ridden in a couple of months now and a trip away (especially as I was planning to go on to Sydney afterwards) is likely going to be too much. I may have to make a tough decision....

Snapey believe me as much as I like the motoGP I would very much prefer to be an MCR !
I didn't restart this forum so I could stay home and watch TV... :cry2:
Been looking forward to this since it was mooted. Have never done those roads and was looking forward to riding them as well as the social aspect of it all.
What a bitch.
Yeah, that really sucks, especially when you have done so much to get this off the ground & continue running.
Thought I was going to thank you in person, but I don't think that's going to happen.
That's too big a ride if you have been off the bike that long.

You can't drop out, that will only leave a room that can't be filled, and Bov was trying to free up one.
That doesn't make sense? If he is looking to free up a room, and I can't come, then that's a free room?
My shoulder is still quite sore,

Have you tried acupuncture?
What a bitch.
Have you tried acupuncture?
Well are you going or not then he won't have to go to the trouble of freeing another room.
The forecast might be a bit far out but I will be packing Wet Weather gear
Nothing to worry about - maybe a little rain - you should always pack your wets anyway :onya:
Now you're just teasing the Poms, 24 odd degrees & showers?? Unheard of they say! :stir:
Hell, even on this side of the ditch if it were 24 degrees & a few showers, I'd be quite happy without wets.
It's very green around Dorrigo, I wonder why.
How many of these 14's will return?
Wongiwomble Creek crossing on Upper Orara Rd Karangi. Part of the Saturday ride we did last time.
Those pictures look great! We'd never get that many 14's together in 1 place on this side of the ditch - which is a real shame.
Good on ya mate, nice to see so many blacks there too, who's is / was the orangey - gold creation?
Thats my mate Catty big fella on bridge, wont be going this year.
And Col if you want a set of garden lights for your 14 they are available at Bunning's for those in UK B&Q.

I just really WANT to go, but being realistic I don't think I'll be able to
And that both saddens and pisses me off a LOT.
It's just that making that final NO commitment is kind of an admission of that sad fact :(
@Bov if you need to give my room away, please do.

Is your shoulder so bad that you can't go in a car? This bloody sob story tells me you never wanted to go in the first place & using a shoulder problem seemed a good excuse to get out of it. This event is not
all about the ride, it's a social event with your internet friends too, so stop feeling sorry for yourself & go to Dorrigo. Two ways ... drive or HTFU and ride.
Not very social if I can't come out and ride mate.
I really was keen but not so much in a car. Not to keen to drive the old land rover down there at the moment either.

Our ride home was in perfect sunshine thankfully, and after a lunch break in Grafton made it home by 1.30pm, just in time for V8's and GP.

Look I found one
The FJR looking lonely in the background. I think their ride is next week mate
Great weekend away.
Pity the weather on Sat stopped the ride going ahead, but 5 of us got out for a quick spin at 2pm.
The extra day that Irish in Oz, Buddy & I added on worked out well, with good weather for our ride up the Oxley Hwy to Walcha for the night. Pity Irish was riding some old ugly looking Yamaha that ruined any photos :whistling:
This is a better photo Jeff :stir:
That's me in the last photo above.
Jeff & Buddy below on the Oxley.

Well what can I say, love my Yamaha's
A great weekend, for sure the weather could have been better, but it's those details you will remember for ever. It certainly tests your mettle when it rains as hard as it did on Friday upon our arrival. I have posted some photos also.
Great bunch of people and made some great new friends :boogie: :boogie: :boogie:

Well - I must publicly put out a massive THANK YOU to Jeff. He gave me the opportunity to attend the MCR by lending a bloke he had never met his GSX1400.
S0 - it is my fault that he had to take an inferior motorcycle on the trip and park it separately and defend the FJR all weekend :stir: :rofl2:
Yeah Buddy, it was a top thing he done there, as you say & that shows the type of guy the funny Irish bastard is :salute: :onya:
Just don't tell him i said nice things about him
Hope you had an uneventful journey home & it was great riding with you both for 4 days & spending quality "men bonding" time together (don't take that the wrong way either)
Top marks Irish........ :clapping:

Yes mate. We will have to give him another Jeffrey Sandwich :smitten:
Wal, Mark and I had a fantastic ride home - the Gwydir Hwy up the Gibraltar Range was especially awesome (except for that one unintentional stop), the Bruxner was good except for a little bit of traffic, the ride up through Urbenville was bumpy but great and lastly the scoot up the Mt Lindesay Hwy was once again fantastic, although I was worn out by that point and was left for dead!!
Was a privalege to meet up with you all again or meet you for the first time. Looking forward to early November 2018 :onya:
Thanks to everyone for a great weekend and especially my two travelling partners Sweety and Buddy ;)
I did learn something over the weekend about Piccolo and Gigolo.
Here's a pic of the other good thing at the weekend
Irish posting pictures of food is not a good idea.......poor Tu Pai will be licking the screen of his computer
Irish what did you learn ? please expand on these topics :^P :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:

Wish I got a photo of the look on everyone's face when you pulled out that franger "Has anyone tried one of these"
If Beaker had of been eating his pork sausage he would have choked.
After that there was plenty of fish on the menu.
I that a conversation with old mate from the mechanics shop across the road from the Dorrigo Hotel the other night.
Some may remember this place he invited me over for a look around.
Inside
Amazing what fella's have tucked away.
A little treasure trove. :onya:
Is he open at all or do you need an invite Irish??
Certainly remember that place & a nice collection he has got going there.
You do have to stop picking up strange blokes in Pubs though Jeff ;)
He should be there most of the time Chris, there is a workshop out the back with a hoist and shit everywhere.
His sort of father in law owned the place but he passed a few years back so he sort of inherited it through his missus :confused1:
I was giving him some advice on testing electrics on a Suzuki V twin and he wanted to stay and find the intermittent fault lol.
Nice bloke.
